Water coverage
We monitor the presence and extent of water resources in a given area by analysing data from authoritative sources such as ESA World Cover, CLC (Corine Land Cover), Impact Observatory Annual LULC, Dominant Leaf Type and Euro Cropmap. This indicator helps to understand changes in water surface over time.
Rain
We analyse the amount of rainfall in a particular area over the years to identify climate trends and variations in rainfall patterns. With data from Open Meteo, we provide valuable insights into understanding changes in atmospheric dynamics and forecasting extreme weather events.
Aridity
We monitor the aridity index by calculating the ratio of average annual rainfall to potential evapotranspiration, which represents the ability of the atmosphere to remove water from the soil. This indicator helps us identify the driest areas and understand the conditions that limit vegetation growth and biodiversity. The data come from the Global-Aridity_ET0 and Global-ET0 Version 3 datasets.
Hydrogeological Risk
Through integrated analysis of water use, resource availability and historical data on water scarcity or stress events, we provide an accurate assessment of current risk and future projections under different climate scenarios. This approach enables the planning of effective strategies for the sustainable management of water resources and the mitigation of water-related risks.
